I. Call to Order

  • Chair Frasure called the meeting to order at 6:02 p.m.

II. Pledge of Allegiance

  • Ustick Elementary students led the Pledge of Allegiance.

III. Agenda Approval

  • There were no changes to the agenda.

IV. Reports and Spotlights

  • Dr. Bub highlighted the recently published state school rankings, noting that 9 of the top 15 schools are in the West Ada School District. He also shared which schools showed improvement in their test scores compared to the previous year.

  • Heidi Jackman-Rahn shared highlights and key achievements from Ustick Elementary School during the 2025–26 school year. She emphasized the “Ustick Way”: being respectful, responsible, and ready.

  • Rachel Edwards shared that the focus for the year was strengthening instruction and continuing to build a positive student culture. The school implemented “Storm Start,” an initiative encouraging students to beat the tardy bell, have materials organized, and be seated ready to learn. She also introduced “Storm Summit,” a transition day when incoming 8th-grade students from feeder schools are welcomed and supported by current student leaders.

  • Rachel introduced the student council team and then turned the floor over to student leaders, who shared key focuses and achievements from the 2025–26 school year. Notably, over 600 students achieved a 4.0 GPA at semester.

  • Renee Senander presented the new hires for the upcoming 2026–27 school year. She began by introducing the recruitment team: Jennifer Fletcher, Caitlin Bothke, and Jenny Hulett. West Ada has secured 24 early hires for the 2026–27 school year.

  • Jason Warr drew the ten finalists for the Activities & Athletics Spring Drawing:

  • Renee Senander presented Katie Rutan as the new principal of Hunter Elementary School, effective for the 2026–27 school year.

  • Renee Senander presented Breanne Rosco as the new principal of Joplin Elementary School, effective for the 2026–27 school year.
